Yesterday’s match saw us in the SPL Senior Cup against Bookham Colts. On a very testing pitch, the boys started really well and took advantage of playing down hill and moving the ball well, resulting in a goal from Aidan. The boys then proceeded to push for another goal but unfortunately conceded making it 1-1 at halftime.
The second half was always going to be tough and with a couple of early injuries it was important not to concede and sneak a goal on the counterattack, but Bookham played some great football, earning them a couple of goals. We also had our chances, but just couldn’t find the net. Bookham then went on to score making it 4-1 and seeing us dropping out of the cup and into the Trophy competition.
Well done to Joaco for earning the MOTM award 👏👏 - a busy day for our goalie on a very muddy pitch.
I know it’s not the result we were looking for, but when we play these top teams we will get days like this, so it’s important to move on and concentrate on our league game this Sunday.
